Thanks for checking out this letter! I tried to include a fair amount of stuff in my optional details, so here I am mostly just hoping to give some insight into how I see the characters and what I'd be interested in reading. I have a lot of ideas, so I've tried to put a lot of them down here - please don't think that I am demanding they all be incorporated together. I'm just looking forward to spending 1000 or however many more words in these worlds and with these characters. Hope you have a happy Yuletide!

Aldnoah.Zero (Slaine Troyard, Asseylum Vers Allusia, Kaizuka Inaho)
Optional Details: I'd love something about their lives after the series, like in a series of vignettes or letters/reports or moments between them and that they experience alone that show a little of how their growth over the course of time has changed or not changed, effected or not effected them in their respective worlds. I love Asseylum as Queen of the World(s), bold champion of the Empire but also of Earth, a compassionate and fearless, emotional, private, and utterly dedicated to uniting her people with their best possible future. I love her passion for humanity. Inaho I most enjoy as a puzzle of emotions, both hidden and easy to read (if you're his sister, or maybe Asseylum), as struggling to always be calm and pragmatic, fitting himself into the space where a cog must be for plans to function. I love that he is reckless with himself but clearly wants to live. My favorite part of Slaine is his agony over his own choices, and how at every turn he seems to see and acknowledge the opportunity to change course, but clings to what he believes is best for what he values most, however misguided he is, and however much he has internalized an idea of himself as subhuman and therefore the one who can (must?) do the difficult, terrible thing.
If you aren't up to future fic, I also love what flashbacks there are of Asseylum and Slaine's young childhood together, and Inaho's perspective on the both of them and their relationships to him. Mostly I'm interested in expansion of character themes and how they have changed each other, for better or for worse, and their hopes for their own and one another's futures. I'm also interested in the choices Asseylum made in the series endgame for all of their lives -- Seylum's line to Inaho when he was unconscious and communicating through his AI, which reports that Inaho considers her a part of him, where she says that she feels he his a part of her made me really want something that explores her decision to partition their selves into different necessary duties for a minimally destructive resolution, to form an empire and be with Klancain, to stay with him and engage in the delicate politicking between Earth and Mars; the implication that Nao is the part of her that can possibly save Slaine from himself, and the implication from Slaine's line that "if [Inaho were] ONLY an enemy, it wouldn't be necessary to hate [him]" that he perceives them all to be connected in a similar way, bound by loyalty to an idea that Seylum embodies for them (and they embody for her, in their devotion and recklessness -- the hope that humans and post-human Versians can find common ground, despite the trauma between them).
If you're more interested in writing warm fuzzy feelings than wrought political aftermath, don't be overwhelmed! I love these characters. I'll be thrilled to read anything, whether it is plotty or fluffy, an expanded scene or an original scenario, whether it's gen interactions or making out. I just want to spend some more time with these characters.
Supplemental Info: As you may be able to tell from my talking about his agony or whatever, I am kind of a helpless Slaine fan. I am not in the Slaine Did Nothing Wrong camp, because boy howdy did he make some terrible life choices, but I very much appreciated how the show portrayed him as having tragically internalized some toxic bullshit about his (and other humans') value. I loved the way the series ended, strife and all, and would love to see more of the aftermath of Slaine's shitty decisions. Feel free to give him a hard time for having been a clueless jerk who is bad at feelings and communication, but maybe give him a little breath of fresh air (it doesn't have to be a happy ending, so much as a hint that relief may come some day). In terms of the political atmosphere within the setting, I love the hints around discussion of diasporic life for Versians (as Slaine clearly identifies when he expresses his pain as a desire to show Earth-dwellers "what it's like to have no home to return to"). I'm also interested in the somewhat feudal court structure of the Versian empire as compared to the somewhat futuristic, militarized-community on Earth we get glimpses of. If you're a world-builder, I would so love to read more about the worlds and their histories and the development of the cultural mentalities of both regions. If you're a character development and analysis loving type, the differing psychology that Asseylum, Inaho, and Slaine all have as a result of their experiences and expectations are something else that I'd love to explore. I adore them all and the way they engage with character tropes within the Real Robot genre. Slaine is not quite a Char clone, Inaho isn't all Heero Yuy self destruct even when he throws himself into nearly-impossible situations, and Asseylum's final choices all seem grounded in what's best for The People in a way that is often less effectively realized in other (Gundam and non-Gundam) political robot dramas. If you're looking to write some romancey ship fic or porn, I WILL HAPPILY ACCEPT THEM, thank you. I love all members of the trio in any combination, so any way you like is fair game -- though if you go for future stuff, ironing out how Klancain feels about or fits into the polygon of feelings would be a wonderful addition.
If you're interested in including other members of the cast, I'd love to hear from Nina and Inko (a ship of my heart, those two, if you're into the background-relationship thing) and know about how they and Yuki fit into or don't fit into the whole scheme of keeping Slaine presumed dead and Nao's assignment from Seylum to "save Slaine" from himself/his misery/his guilt in a way where Asseylum doesn't actually have to interact with him and his bullshit after what he did. Lemrina and Harklight are also PRECIOUS GEMS OF MY HEART and I want them to be happy (not necessarily with each other, or with Slaine) but they seem more likely to be a way to poke at the plan to say Slaine is dead. Speaking of Slaine being supposedly dead, does anybody think he was martyred? I am going to stop thinking about this now so that I don't offer any impossibly-too-big-to-write ideas. Suffice to say, I am excited to read many types of stories about these characters, so I hope you have fun writing whatever you choose!

Gundam 00 (Graham Aker, Setsuna F. Seiei)
Optional Details: This is a cry into the vastness of space in the hopes that some ship fic will manifest as a result. I hope I am not the only one who thinks Graham and Setsuna are pretty great for each other, and I love the way they fire each other up. I know that shit goes down in the movie sort of making it an impossible dream that they will ever get to like chill out and be happy gearhead robonerds together but I will gaze wistfully at what could have been.... I'll also happily accept anything involving their friendship/rivalry and mutual obsession with Gundam. I also love Graham the Flag stan and would enjoy something set when he's working on Over Flag or trying to find out more about how those Gundams even work with their subtle glow and smooth physics. I like Setsuna pretending to be a totally harmless kid and failing utterly, but also feel like they could get some good bonding in over being soldiers (though for totally different reasons). I confess that I will ship Katagiri and Noriega until my soul leaves my shattered body and beyond, and would love Graham and Setsuna dealing with that relationship together, especially since it puts them in a position of allies-about-this-one-thing that Gundam love also does. This could be anything from serious conflict of interest discussions or wacky romcom hijinks, but I mostly enjoy stuff focused on revealing the vulnerable underbelly of characters' psyche and emotions.
If you're not interested in writing anything shippy with Graham and Setsuna, don't be dismayed! I also love character exploration, so delving into Graham's backstory or thoughts and motivations as relates to Setsuna and Gundams and Celestial Being would be a delightful gift.
Supplemental Info: Okay so like if my years of searching for fanworks has been any indicator, there are maybe ten people who ship these two. I am not sure why it is my absolute favorite ship in all of 00 but it is. On the one hand, that means that yeah, I would really love there to be more shippy fic of them in the world. On the other hand, it means that if you were assigned to me on this fandom and are not at all down with the idea, I am well and thoroughly prepared to enjoy something else about them, because that is most of what I get about them anyway AND finding new non-shippy stuff about them is STILL something I very much enjoy. I'm really into the symbolism and iconography used for both Graham and Setsuna throughout the series, and totally separate from shipping would enjoy very much something that manipulates, analyses, or augments what was already built into the visual narrative. With Graham, I'm interested in how he wrestles with identity and failure, and the whole what-does-it-mean-when-Japanese-writers-have-the-American-guy-call-himself-Bushido thing. With Setsuna, I'm super in love with the sabra-like desert flower iconography that surrounds him and how it relates to his past as a refugee and how he revises the whole heart-of-space post-human thing that Quatre had going in Wing (and that Tieria also reinterprets, if you're into that).

Natsume Yuujinchou (Sasada Jun, Taki Tooru)
Optional Details: Pretty much all the characters in this thing are loveable, but with Natsume as the point-of-view character, Taki and Sasada haven't had as much about them revealed through bonding time with Natsume. Perhaps while the guys are away at Tanuma's place or the onsen in the mountains, or otherwise nestled into the timeline, there could be some adventures with the local ghosts and spirits that Taki and Sasada deal with together? I know that Sasada has been pretty assertively excluded from the group as the Nosy Class Rep by her classmates, but Tanuma and Taki being in another class means she doesn't fall as easily into her old holding pattern managing them along with her other friends. She's curious and skeptical, but clearly wants in on whatever secrets Natsume and the others are in on, so it would be fun to see her investigating some mysterious circumstances when they aren't around to elbow her out of the way or otherwise distract her. I love that Sasada is persistently outgoing and friendly, and makes it clear when she doesn't want to back down, but when the whole group evades her questioning she doesn't insist on tagging along, which seems pretty graceful under pressure. I'd love to see her make an effort to befriend Taki, and the two of them encountering supernatural happenstance or just enjoying a moment of bonding. Maybe there's a rumor about a haunted house (or it's the time of year when that seems fun)? Maybe there's a bakeneko (or its kittens) that they think is an ordinary cat at first? Maybe they're just in the same dry spot during a rainstorm and share stories and get a little closer -- or frighten each other by accident.
Alternately, if you're interested in refocusing the structure of the show a little, and reimagine it with Taki, or Jun as the protagonist. It'd be pretty cool to read about Taki and Sasada, rather than Tanuma and Natsume, getting trapped in a house in the woods full of hungry youkai, and Hiiragi and Natori help them out; or to read about Jun the amateur investigator stumbling across Taki scratching seals to reveal youkai that pass through them. If you like to write romance, I certainly wouldn't mind them holding hands and strolling down the kissing lane together! They could also be trying to play matchmaker for someone else, or generally being nosy about who everyone likes, but I'd rather they be taking actions than talking about them.
Supplemental Info: I was thinking about this canon and how I've learned a lot from it in little parcels of bittersweet memory or moments of vulnerability from each character, and how the more time Natsume spends with a character allows us to know more about them, and how they are always avoiding Jun. Taki seems sort of shy and a little distractible to me, so I feel like a sharp-eyed but energetic friend like Jun would be a fun match for her, and they could have a good time solving their own sorts of spirit-related mysteries and emotional entanglements that Natsume is usually busy with. I'd really like if this could keep with the tone and sort of emotional texture of the canon, but I know that shifting it to focus on Sasada or Taki will necessarily change the tone, because they won't take things quite the same way that Natsume does (and that sort of soothing quality he has seems like a big part of why the canon feels the way it does). I'd love something really focusing on getting to know the people they are, for this one.

selector infected/spread WIXOSS (Any Characters)
Optional Details: I LOVE THIS SHOW I love all the characters, in the tag set and out of it. I'll be delighted to read more about any of these precious babies and their relationships, their struggles, and their failures and triumphs. I JUST WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY and that may be impossible but they can try damn it, they can try so hard in potentially disasterous ways. I would love something about their desires and their fears, the lengths they are willing to go, and would love something to help legitimize their experiences... or to mercilessly crush their dreams. When I say Any I mean ANY. Aki-lucky or Aki-lovely struggling with agency during or after the series? Hanayo and Yuzuki's private conversations from season one? Can a minus be made into a plus, and back again, like how people commented on Akira's new look seeming edgier, even as Ulith was securing her shoots? What if Kazuki had drawn Hanayo - even with Selectors being girls, there could be some interesting gender stuff in there! Do you think the game was the only thing that made Yuzuki's initial wish come true, as it was shown? Kazuki never having had any romantic thoughts about anyone else is something worth exploring too. SERIOUSLY THERE IS SO MUCH WITH JUST THESE CHARACTERS. I love Hinoe and Ruu, so if they are there getting in Akira's way or cheering Yuzuki on (while being slightly disturbed or otherwise) or trying to intervene with Kazuki about Hanayo (or Hanayo about Kazuki), I'd love to see them. Also whatever and whomever you choose to write about, I love the show's ability to go from sunshine to miserable existential dismay to cake and hugging. I love the emotional "whump" of the canon and will enjoy it in fic, but I ALSO want all the girls to get to be with their friends and have things that make them happy and that they will all get to have ice cream together some time and play stupid card games because THIS FUCKING SHOW. I just want there to be more of it. More of anything about it. IT IS MY WISH FOR THE CARDS.
Supplemental Info: There are a few prompts I thought up after submissions, if my re-iterations of "any" are too vague. We saw some of Akira's glee during her battle with Yuzuki -- a story about more of them getting to one another (and how Yuzuki's eventual acceptance of what her wish relates to Akira's roller-coster presentation of confidence) and the way they each embody desire(s) within the narrative or that explores the way they play off of one another in and out of battle would be cool. I'm also interested in Akira's reaction to the triangle. In my heart of hearts, I really want all the girls to get to be together with their friends and their LRIGs and go right on committing recklessly to their potentially ill-advised relationships because that's what they want (or what the game wants them to want). I love Tama and Ruu's bond and how much it emotionally centered the show around desire, pleasure, and the pain of isolation, but we don't get as much depth with the rest of the LRIGs, so more about other Selector-LRIG bonds and the consequences (Hanayo's affection for Yuzuki conflating with her feelings about Kazuki, for example) or anything highlighting the formation and endurance of those bonds would be really enriching. BUT ALSO I said I was down for anything in this fandom and I absolutely mean that. Yes, even with the weird stuff in canon. Yes, even that other weird thing you just thought of. I WANT TO READ IT. Yes, even if it's a terribly mean/angsty and emotional/light-hearted and fluffy/totally gen/totally porn/card battle strategy guide or whatever. SERIOUSLY, I WANT TO READ IT.
